For those who frequent Din Tai Fung Restaurant or Cold Storage at the Gardens, you probably would have noticed this restaurant tucked in one corner with constant flow of customers to the restaurant.
I have been a regular patron of this particular restaurant for many years and I think it's about time for me to do a proper review on this restaurant.
Purple Cane Tea Restaurant, unlike any other regular restaurants in Klang Valley, they serve very healthy Chinese style dishes and don't be surprised that all of their dishes are cooked with different types of tea leaves! From Jasmine tea leaves, Oolong tea leaves, Pu Er tea leaves.
In addition, let them know if you are a vegetarian as the kitchen is able to prepare your dish accordingly.
- Tomato Prawn Egg (S) RM 12
Being home sicked, I decided to order this simple dish, tomato prawn egg.
What I really appreciate about the dish is it's not oily at all. However, the lack of freshness of the prawn disappoints me. This was rather boring . Unless you are craving for scramble egg, you might want to think twice before ordering this dish again.
- Steam Ginger Fish Slices - RM22
It's also my first time ordering this dish and it was ordered out of the need to nourish myself. This dish was alright, recommended for those who are having a cold or keeping yourself warm.
- Hairy Gourd with Minced Chicken - RM15
For the price that was paid, the portion is just nice for 2 adults. I liked because the minced chicken and the nicely chopped chilli mixed really well with the hairy gourd, giving it a stronger taste that goes really well with the Green Tea Rice (RM 1.80 - refillable)
Another plus point is unlike the dishes served in other restaurants, the dishes served in this restaurant is NOT starchy at all.
- Green Tea Summer Pudding - RM4
A meal is not complete without delicious dessert to top it off! Sooner or later, you will probably notice that I am sucker when it comes to anything related to green tea. From green tea cakes, green tea chocolates, green tea facial wash. You name it.
Hence, I ordered Green Tea Summer Pudding (RM4) to complete my meal. Highly recommended, extremely satisfying and it is something that I would order every time I visit the restaurant.
Will definitely return to order some of their famous signature dishes, stir fried beef and their famous tofu.
