Howdy Grillhouse @ Brighton Square, Jalan Song, Kuching

Having heard lots of comments that this restaurant serves the best ribs in town, I popped by for a try. Its located near causeway bay, fairly easy to locate.

Upon entering, we (my friend and I) were greeted by a lovely bunch of friendly Howdy members..

The menu was quite extensive ranging from the famous ribs which can be ordered in different sizes such as L, XL, XXL and XXXL.. and marinated and cooked in either BBQ sauce, or if you prefer something spicier, there is hot chilli or something milder such as the red pepper..  down to steak, fish, chicken, pastas, salads etc.

We finally settled for a XL sized ribs in sweet pepper sauce and BBQ sauce. The marinade on the ribs glistened under the light, with a few charred bits here and there, its cooked to perfection, releasing a tender and sometimes chewy tasty sensation in the mouth. However, its pretty hard to consume ribs daintily, if you're not worried about the unappealing image of using your hands and devouring this piece of meat, go ahead and just enjoy this succulence piece of goodness. Its not too bad under Kuching standards.. My only complain, not that fleshy or GIGANTIC as compared to the ribs one could get in Australia..

Ribs (Sweet Pepper and BBQ, Rm 47.80 excluding service charge, XL size)
Not forgetting the chips splashed on with some red powder at the end.. crispy and nice.. would be perfect with the additional burst of flavoursome salt at the end.

Ordered the Cowboy calamari as well (Rm 6.80), the batter, a crispy goodness, although some calamari were overly coated with batter.. when dipped in the tartare sauce, it just gives the calamari the roundedness it needs, indeed, its 'oohh, full of flavour'! Despite this dish being slightly overdone, it was a crunchy, crispy, and tasty delight!

Verdict: Can't comment much since I didn't really venture out into tasting the other dishes here, but overall, it was a delightful    dining experience. Not bad ribs I would say.
